Le minist`ere britannique de la D'efense a publi'e mercredi tous les documents sur les observations d'objets volants non identifi'es entre 1978 et 1987 au Royaume-Uni.

Deux petits hommes verts qui tentent d'enlever un p^echeur, une soucoupe volante au-dessus de Waterloo Bridge `a Londres et des lumi`eres color'ees se d'eplacant dans le ciel au-dessus de Liver pool. Entre 1978 et 1987, le Royaume-Uni a recu la visite d'etranges visiteurs, si l'on en croit les cen taines de t'emoignages d'evoil'es hier `a l'occasion de l'ouverture des archives secr`etes du minist`ere de la D'efense britannique sur les ovnis.

Les documents concern'es ont 'et'e d'eclassifi'es et sont d'esormais disponibles sur le site Internet des Archives nationales britanniques. Ils seront accessibles gratuitement pendant un mois.

L'initiative n'est pas une premi`ere. En mars 2007, le Centre national d'etudes spatiales (Cnes), en France, avait d'ej`a mis en ligne ses dossiers sur les ph'enom`enes a'erospatiaux non identifi'es (PAN). Selon les officiels du minist`ere de la D'efense britannique, 90 % des t'e-moignages sont li'es `a des ph'enom`enes relativement banals, comme des ballons m'et'eorolo giques, la pleine lune ou des nuages lumineux dans la haute at mosph`ere, mais 10 % r'esistent `a l'explication. Malheureusement, ce n'est pas dans ces archives que l'on trouvera mati`ere `a les 'elu cider. En effet, ces t'emoignages n'etaient collect'es que pour des questions li'ees `a la d'efense.

Lumi`eres rouges et vertes

D`es que les militaires 'etaient s^urs qu'il ne s'agissait pas d'un prototype d'avion secret sovi'etique, raconte David Clarke, du d'epartement de journalisme et de communication `a l'Universit'e de Sheffield, qui a r'edig'e une in-troduction sur les dossiers mis en ligne. Ce passionn'e d'UFO (ovni en anglais) a aussi relev'e que le nombre de d'epositions avait doubl'e en 1978 et 1979, apr`es le film de Spielberg sur les ovnis, Ren contres du troisi`eme type, sorti en 1977.

Seule une poign'ee de d'epo sitions ont fait l'objet d'une en qu^ete de la part des autorit'es. Quelques-unes sont assez farfelues. Le 21 f'evrier 1982, des clients sortant d'un pub rapportent avoir vu des lumi`eres rouges et vertes clignoter dans le ciel. La direction des sources lumineuses correspondait exactement `a la position de... l'a'eroport londonien de Gat wick !

Certains des documents consign'es par les militaires sont des courriers de particuliers envoy'es aux autorit'es. Un individu a par exemple demand'e quel 'etait le plan des arm'ees britanniques en cas d'invasion extraterrestre. Un autre, pr^et `a rendre service, a en voy'e des sch'emas dessin'es `a la main cens'es expliquer comment fonctionnent les vaisseaux extraterrestres.

Mais certaines d'epositions r'e sistent encore `a toute explication, comme les 'etranges signaux ra dars enregistr'es par la Royal Air Force et des contr^oleurs a'eriens civils.

Amateurs d'ovnis, r'ejouissez-vous. Le minist`ere de la D'efense britannique vient de publier ses premi`eres archives sur les ovnis qui auraient survol'e le ciel de la Grande-Bretagne. Les documents comprennent les t'emoignages et les enqu^etes entourant des ph'enom`enes paranormaux observ'es entre 1950 et 2007. En tout, environ 160 dossiers seront publi'es d'ici quatre ans.

Le gouvernement britannique a c'ed'e `a l'acharnement du professeur David Clark qui multipliait les demandes d'acc`es `a l'information depuis quelques ann'ees.

Les premiers documents disponibles relatent les t'emoignages de Londoniens ayant observ'e des lumi`eres 'etranges au-dessus du pont Waterloo et celui, bizarre, d'un Britannique de 78 ans que des extraterrestres ont pr'ef'er'e ne pas enlever parce qu'il 'etait "trop vieux et trop infirme".

Quelqu'un devrait informer Jos'e Gabriel Funes, l'astronome du Vatican qui croit aux extra-terrestres.

Appearing in the 1990s, Martyn Stubbs recorded over 2.500 hours of live video transmissions from STS-48 to STS-80 NASA missions. In this footage that was captured, give are regular phenomena observed. I've just decided to up and post little gems from Colin Bennett's Looking for Orthon,his book on George Adamski, as I come upon them. Which is a book everyone who considers themselves serious about UFOlogy should read. (I know, we all have our "must read UFO books list" right?)One of the common folklore items about Adamski was that he was an immigrant hot dog vendor. This is often said in the same context as dismissing Adamski. Sure, he's a lunatic, goes the thinking, but if you have any doubt about that, geez, he was just an immigrant hot dog/hamburger vendor.The fact is, Adamski often worked with his wife in a restaurant operated and owned by his close friend Alice K. Wells. This restaurant (not simple 'hot dog' stand) was the stopping place for people going, or coming back from, the observatory up the road to Mt. Palomar. Regarding the common and all too frequent meme that Adamski "sold hot dogs" (or the variant; "hamburger" vendor) Bennett cites Lou Zinnsstag, who couldn't understand the need to dismiss Adamski, based on his alleged occupation. She wondered: why, in a democracy, this fact did so much to damage his image." It's the American way, isn't it? Work hard, the idea that manual labor is good, honest labor, that working at all is better than free loading. We're told that, or were, (I know I was, probably reality's beginning to set in now in these times, the further away we are from Post WWII era fantasties.) The opposite is true of course: you aren't any better off, and there is nothing dignified about living in poverty or working your bones bare til you drop. Bennett writes, of the slams against Adamski's occupation to "prove" that he was full of crap:"Perhaps the world still thinks as Shakespeare thought, that only those at the top of the social scale are capable of having intensely significant experiences. "Maybe it irked the privileged classes on some level, those who prided themselves on being 'educated' and in a higher economic bracket, that these experiences didn't happen to them. And that if they did, they don't dare tell about it, for fear of being ostracized from their peer groups and their social class.This notion that Adamski was a no account working stiff at a dead end hamburger/hot dog stand still exists. I've come across this snide dismissal from many an anti-UFO individual. As Bennett tells us, this kind of thinking was alive as recently as 1999:"Naturally enough, Adamski was always very sensitive about the "hamburger vendor" title some popular newspapers had given him. Even as late as 1999, the British X-Factor magazine condescendingly refers to his "hot dog stand." From this remark, we assume that for sound philosophy, first-class restaurants are absolutely essential."(And that last line is one of the many reasons why I love Bennett.)It doesn't need saying (but of course I'll say it anyway) that it's become a clich'e in our culture to make fun of the hick, the hillbilly, the trailer park occupant, -- the working class, the poor, the working poor, those without a higher education (or those who are assumed to not have a higher education,) the blue and pink collar workers of our country, and point to them and deride them when they tell us they've seen a UFO, or experienced some other anomalous event.And yet, it is to this group of people that most often the anomalous occurs, it seems. If they do occur to the upper classes -- or those who would like to see themselves that way -- the elite, the ones with college degrees, the scientists and white collar professionals, they are keeping quiet for the most part. There are exceptions of course; like commercial pilots, a lot of military people who've come forward, etc. But the "idea" that it's low life hicks and/or mere "hamburger" slingers that see UFOs or encounter the weird, is still around. Their stories are too fantastic to be believed, but we know that somewhere, it's possible, it's even likely, and so we tell ourselves that it's only the unimportant in society that see these things to make us feel better. Date: Grand 8, 1988Time: Approx: 9:40 p.m. On Sunday, Grand 8, 1988 at give away 9:40 p.m. I was sitting covering adjacent the north side of our house having a cigarette. They seemed to announce in relation to transparent. They ready no christen that I could test. They flew over the river and the near woodland and continued south. I watched them until they passed away from sight. This is the latest sign of alien activity in the skies bigger Merton. The picture was conquered by Nicholas Fitter, from his airplane on the Broadway last week. MINNEAPOLIS (STARpod.org) -- "The man who reactivated me is... " Uri paused, then he said, "called Ron."I was reading Jon Ronson's book, "THE MEN WHO STARE AT GOATS". Ronson wrote, "Was Ron FBI? CIA? Military intelligence? Homeland security? Could Ron be MI5? MI6?" "Ah ha!" I thought. "Now it makes sense!" I knew that Ron worked for CIA. And why Uri Geller may have found himself "reactivated" for the war on terror. "This is about what happened when a small group of men -- highly placed within the United States military, the government, and the intelligence services -- began believing in very strange things." Thus begins Jon's Ronson's disturbing and entertaining exploration of high strangeness infecting the US government in his follow-up to his first book "THEM: Adventures with Extremists." "THEM "clearly set the tone for Ronson's unique approach to the sources and methods found in "THE MEN WHO STARE AT GOATS -- "understated shock and awe tempered by a dry sense of humor in all the right places. When faced with video evidence of alleged mind-control over a small animal, Ronson notes: "It does seem odd... although I have to say that emotions such as circumspection and wariness are not that easy to discern in hamsters." Ronson (who followed in the footsteps of another UK citizen and journalist, Nick Cook of Janes Defence Weekly) was astonished by the fascination high-ranking persons in the United States exhibited over the paranormal. And like Cook and Ronson, who had observed the inexplicable weirdness (which had largely emerged for all to see on the Internet in the 1990s) -- I was also curious about what had inspired strange beliefs in the unreal. Since the mid-1990s I had been exploring far-out science with an eye on future developments. It did appear that an entire industry had developed around improbable imaginary weapons, but what of the impossible? Ronson began by looking into Uri Geller's claims of involvement with American intelligence services. Ronson writes:"The way I saw it, the truth lay in one of four possible scenarios:" (1) It just never happened" (2) A couple of crazy renegades in the higher levels of the U.S. Intelligence Community had brought in Uri Geller." (3) U.S. intelligence is the repository of incredible secrets, which are kept from us for our own good; one of those is that Uri Geller has psychic powers, which were harnessed during the Cold War. They just hoped he wouldn't go around telling everybody." (4) The U.S. Intelligence Community was, back then, essentially nuts through and through." Ronson landed in the midst of the controversy beginning with an interview with former head of military intelligence (INSCOM) Bert Stubblebine and the above mentioned lunch meeting with Uri Geller. In his book Ronson claims "It was Uri Geller who set me on the trail that led to the goats" as he searched for the mysterious "Ron." Ronson never did find "Ron," or at least never admitted as much. I was aware of the connection between Uri and "Ron" ever since "Ron" had responded to an email we had both received less than a year prior to 9/11. That particular email implied a recruitment drive allegedly sanctioned by "Ron." As it turns out, it was not Uri Geller but another associate of "Ron" who sent Ronson on quest to track down "the men who stare at goats." Ronson's big break in the story came from Colonel John B. Alexander, a non-lethal weapons consultant to the government and former associate of Stubblebine at INSCOM. According to Ronson, it was Alexander who named the man that redirected his attention away from current Intelligence Community involvement ("Ron") towards Special Forces, and the allegations of psychic goat-killers. Hold onto the thought that Ronson may have been deliberately sent off on a new vector when he kept asking about "Ron." What fascinated me from the beginning of Ronson's book was his ability to personalize his story and uncover new details. It was also clear that Ronson was not always in-the-know concerning the import of his discoveries. Of Ronson's four possibilities, we can easily rule out number one, as recently declassified files (available to review at STARpod.org) evidence CIA's attempt to recruit Uri Geller for his psychic powers in the early 1970s. Number two can also be ruled out, since the same set of documents, known as the STAR GATE collection, prove that the highest levels of military and intelligence right up to the Vice President's office were well aware of the situation. Number four may also be discarded: evidence exists that interest in the paranormal continues today. Ronson soon learned that not only had the government tasked psychic spies to obtain enemy secrets during the cold war, and even into the Gulf War in the 1990's, but they had pursued the dark side of the force: the willful killing of goats and hamsters with a thought. And, more chillingly, they were interested in "reactivating" the research for the war on terror -- and so, apparently, was al Qaeda. With the stage set under the light of high strangeness and clandestine evil, Ronson goes off the track to explore other equally confusing and disturbing aspects of government involvement with the paranormal and their errant children in the private sector. Throughout the book Ronson invokes the new-age warrior philosophy of the 1st Earth Battalion for guidance, but it is soon apparent that a disturbing darkness lurks beneath the surface. Psychic remote viewers for hire, weird predictions that never come true, and strange UFO death cults are explored as Ronson desperately seeks the unifying narrative to his book. This is new and uncharted territory for Ronson (and for most of his readers) -- thus Ronson weaves back and forth across space, time, and subject matter -- turning over stones big and small to uncover the meaning behind the madness. Psychological operations in Iraq, crazy non-lethal weapons, abusive torture, mind-control projects from the 1950s, subversive subliminal messages, and psychic delusions grow from every crack in the pavement of reason. By the end of "The Men Who Stare at Goats," Ronson begins to see the extent of landscape ahead as if for the first time. Ronson writes: "It seemed remarkable to me that the organizational gap in the intelligence world between the light side (psychic supermen) and the dark side (covert assassination) has been so narrow." Meanwhile, as Ronson was busy tracking down the goats, "Ron" went on his merry way investigating weird science on behalf of the newly formed Office of the Director of National Intelligence, as told in my series "KNOWING THE FUTURE: CIA, 9/11, UFOs, and the Extraterrestrial Presence "(available at STARpod.org). Was Ronson sent on a wild goat chase? Was he set up by cleverly planted intelligence operatives? In the end, does it really matter? It's not a question of whether or not the government has a team of psychic assassins staged to take down any adversary deemed a threat. In the end it comes down to tales of spies and lies, manipulation of the truth, and public oversight. The recent CIA torture scandal is only one small tip of an iceberg of private contractor black-operations protected from the heat of disclosure by national security laws. Is it really worth putting the public mental health at risk by promoting insanity in the interest of national security? How much collateral damage from counterintelligence operations is deemed acceptable? Jon Ronson (and the writer of the fictionalized film version of Ronson's book) wisely understood that humor is the best vaccination to protect one's sanity against the strange and unnatural. By not taking himself too seriously, Ronson has been able to get closer to the strangeness than almost anyone else in recent memory, without being caught up in the paranoia and delusion. About 3:45 or 4:00 a.m. on 12/5/2010 I opened the sliding glass door on the north side of our house to let my dogs out to relieve themselves and out of the corner of my right eye I saw a bright white light so I turned to face it and observed what appeared to be a very bright, circular white light above the horizon of the Sandia Mtns. In the background of sky there are in fact two bright yellowish lights that are visible every night; both on the crest of the Sandias and apart from one another and this light was "centered" and above them and the sight of it APPEARED TO BE A TRIANGLE with the yellow lights of Sandia Crest on the left and the light of the Sandia Peak Tram house on the right forming the "base" of the triangle along the Sandia Crest and the bright light forming the peak of the triangle at the top. I started to dismiss my initial sighting of the light as the moment when an aircraft turned on it's landing lights and I must have seen it as it was moving towards me. so I waited to see if it would turn toward the south to Albuquerque International or westward to Double Eagle. It seemed peculiar to me that it was taking entirely too long for any "aircraft" to reach me; the night was perfectly quiet, there was no jet engine noise or prop noise, there were no strobe lights or red and green wingtip lights, no automobile noises to muffle the sounds that should have been there. I looked closely at the white light and observed that it seemed to flicker somewhat along the edges and "wobble" side to side and up and down, but it certainly was not getting any closer to my location it was just up in the sky shining brightly hovering as it were and then as I watched the light IT WENT OUT!

It just vanished completely from my sight! The night was still perfectly quiet and there were no sounds, and there were no strobes or red and green wingtip lights that I could observe, and no competing automobile noises as I listened for some jet engine noise or propellers beating the air like a helicopter or airplane would. There was no sound. I was stumped. I didn't know what I had seen and I certainly couldn't identify it either. As my dogs were coming back in I couldn't help looking toward the Sandia Mountains for one final look and just as suddenly as it had disappeared, it REAPPEARED in the very same area it was before! Wow! It was there, I didn't imagine it. Where had it gone and where did it come from? It was now clear to me that there was a very real, very curious event indeed going on and I was a witness to it. I observed the same behavior as before but then as I watched the light rotated from pointing straight toward me to my left and faced to the north. It remained there and looked like a cone. A cone of white light with the smaller end facing south and the wider end facing north. I am not sure how long it remained this way, it got dimmer and bright again and again and as I was observing the "cone" of bright light the entire cone rotated back to it's left and faced westward again. It continued to brighten and dim somewhat for several minutes I started to think it was similar to the lights over Phoenix, but only one light here, and then, as I watched, it just went off like someone flipped a switch; and as I looked at the place where the incredibly bright white light used to be, there was now what appeared to be a glowing "ember" that was colored yellow and grew steadily smaller and smaller until it finally disappeared completely and I saw it no more. Area 51 has been called the most secret place on Earth that never existed. And for a long time, that was true.

On March 26, the Smithsonian-affiliated National Atomic Testing Museum in Las Vegas plans to unveil the first-ever Area 51 exhibit, and it will be loaded with UFO and possible extraterrestrial-related items.

The exhibit, dubbed "Area 51: Myth or Reality," will present the historical records of a place that has long been shrouded in mystery.

"The CIA declassified most of the records on Area 51 up through the late '60s and early '70s. It's out in the public now," said museum CEO and executive director Allan Palmer.

"Now we know a lot more about it and can present some of the really true stories that happened out there. As the tale goes, Lazar alleged that this secret military facility was used to study several alien spacecraft, with the ultimate goal of trying to reverse-engineer the technology to figure out how it worked.

"There are questions that I have about Bob," explained Knapp, "and I know there are problems and gaps within his story, but there were a lot of things that Lazar knew about the base that are really difficult to explain. For example, he knew there was a place called S-4, and that had never been printed anywhere."

Prior to the news series that Knapp reported on Area 51, the world had never heard of the place. Only the people who worked there or lived in the area knew about it. Unless you had a specific connection to the activities there, you wouldn't have known the place existed.

The National Atomic Testing Museum -- the nation's newest national museum -- decided to combine the true stories of those who actually worked at Area 51 with the speculative reports of an extraterrestrial element.

Because of his key role in putting the secret facility on the map, exhibitors asked Knapp to be involved. To that end, a special George Knapp room has been included in the exhibit, where visitors can see a variety of documents and artifacts that he's collected over the years: films, videos, photos and something very special to be unveiled for the exhibit opening.
