From asteroids, many in-demand metals or hydrogen can be harvested. Think of what this makes possible: create docking stations where spacecraft can refuel, and asteroids become the stepping stones for the exploration of space. The depletion of resources on Earth will make space exploration necessary. There is also the prospect of wealth that will drive companies to invent the necessary transportation and mining techniques. Governments and institutions like NASA already sponsoring.
Now here is another thought. If asteroid mining is such a useful practice, then we are probably not the first species to invent it. More advanced alien races must already possess these techniques or have practiced asteroid mining in the past or present. Some have suggested that we should look for signs of such activity in asteroid belts to help discover alien civilizations in space.
But could asteroid mining also bring us evidence that ancient aliens once visited Earth? It will not be easy, but it is possible. Chances are that we will pick accessible asteroids for mining, and end up choosing the same ones that these ancient visitors used in the distant past. We could then find evidence of their activities. Maybe their excavations, drilling activities are still visible today. And maybe, if we are even luckier, we could find their equipment, or even remains of alien species.
We wouldn't be surprised if some of the findings will look familiar. They could very well resemble ancient artifacts, structures and descriptions out of ancient legends found here on Earth - if ancient aliens actually visited Earth in our distant past. The lead article in this issue was a piece by Roger Sandell, 'Notes Towards a Social History of Ley-Hunting'. This was based on a talk that Roger gave to the Anglo-French UFO meeting at Hove, in 1988 - one of the four ground-breaking conferences organised by Hilary Evans. What was remarkable about this talk was that, after the non-arrival of one of the scheduled speakers, Roger leapt into the gap and gave this presentation almost entirely ad-lib, relying on his prodigious memory and understanding of the social background to anomalous phenomena. He later wrote up the presentation, adding and revising it slightly, before publishing it in Magonia.
Martin Kottmeyer made his second appearance in our pages with a short article 'The Creative Fire' which furthered the discussion about the role of the UFO, and particularly the abduction experience as a means for the individual percipient to externalise their otherwise repressed creative instincts. He concludes: "There is a fire to create in the souls of the abductees. Ufologists unleash it at their own peril." The recent history of the abductionist cult shows how true that is.
Magonia 29 also saw a continuation of the debate about 'earthlights' with Claude Maug'e taking on Paul Devereux. It is difficult to remember just how central to ufology, at least ufology in the United Kingdom, the earthlights theory was. It was perhaps the last serious attempt to find a solid physical - or geophysical - explanation for the UFO phenomenon. But, like too many other attempts, it ultimately failed through trying to develop an overall explanation for a wide range of disparate events and experiences which had little in common except that at some time or other they had been labelled as 'UFOs'.
Long before Nick Pope was a gleam in the eye of a civil service examiner, Ralph Noyes was ufology's man in the corridors of power, and he took a senior insider's look at the emerging MJ-12 farrago in his 'Majestical Mystery Tour'. and gave an informed and forensic analysis of the flaws in the story. He expresses his own intimations that "some Americans had already, by 1950, detected a weirdness in UFO events which was unlikely to yield to treatment by the established physical sciences".

They are on both the forward and rear images taken by NASA's Stereo Spacecraft in space. They appear to be moving as they are in different positions on many photos. Remember these are huge possibly at least the size of Earth. Further, if they were planets or some type of huge asteroid comets, they would already have been pulled into the sun by the strong gravity the sun produces as in the case of the recent comet.Notice also that they are reflecting the suns light just like a metal constructed ship would do.Our best guess is that these are huge planet sized spacecrafts are either observing the sun, or harvesting the energy from our sun. Either way, we await NASA's official explanation.

This is what a congressional hearing looks like in a some kind of bizarre-o parallel universe: All your favorite past members are there, including former senator Mike Gravel (D-Alaska), and former representatives Darlene Hooley, (D-Ore)., Merrill Cook (R-Utah), Roscoe Bartlett (R-Md.), Carolyn Cheeks Kilpatrick (D-Mich.), and Lynn Woolsey (D-Calif).
And the topic? Extraterrestrials. As in little green men. And whether there's a conspiracy within the U.S. government to cover up their existence.
A longtime UFO-truther organization called the Paradigm Research Group is holding what it's calling a "Citizen Hearing on Disclosure," a five-day event at the National Press Club to explore the matter. The confab, which kicks off on April 29 and was brought to our attention by our pals at Roll Call's Heard on the Hill, will be styled to resemble a real Hill hearing, complete with witnesses, statements, the whole shebang.
And to give the proceedings the proper air of legitimacy, the hearing's organizers enlisted a colorful roster of former members to wield the gavel and question the witnesses. Organizer Stephen Bassett tells us the group identified about 100 former members they thought might be up to the task and ultimately settled on a bipartisan panel of six....

The Army Corps camels were released in the early 1900s into the desert and legends still remain of people seeing them or ghost versions. The eerie thing about this story is that in the early 1900s, a rancher saw the camel at the well out front and it had a skeleton attached to it by ropes. The story said that the army corps guys tied a scared soldier to the camel to stay put and the camel ran off, the man died, and the camel was reportedly seen by several people with the body still strapped on.
There are lots of very good reports of Bigfoot in the high country and even some reports in the desert. I used to dispute the concept of Bigfoot in the desert, but other hominins live here, such as ourselves and the Native Americans who lived here long before air conditioning and plumbing.
Arizona's most reports are of Thunderbirds and skinwalkers - remnants of the Native America blieef systems and legends, but legends that seem to based on something actually still seen today by people who never believed in anything that wasn't already discovered.
Lately, more and more of the chupacabra reportings are popping up, especially in the Tucson area.

Taken by NASA's Cassini robotic orbiter, the shot was captured from the dark side of Saturn as the Sun's bright rays illuminated every piece of dust and debris circling the planet. Cassini has offered astronomers a never-before-seen look at Saturn and revealed more information about the planet than any craft before it. The craft has taken so many pictures of the ringed wonder that they were recently made into a short flyby film that looks like it was created by George Lucas rather than a robotic space explorer.
In Qabalistic magick Saturn is related to Binah, which encompasses both the vision of wonder and the vision of sorrow. It's considered both an astrological malefic and the lord of initiation. And in this picture you can see all that, and so much more. This is going to become my magical image of choice for years to come.
The Cassini probe was launched in 1997 and took a further 7 years to reach Saturn's orbit. The total cost of its overarching objective of studying the ringed planet stands at a staggering 3.26 billion. However, the wealth of information it has wrought - including amazing pictures like the one above, and recordings of massive lightning storms on the planet - have already made it one of the best investments in space exploration. Hopefully Juno - which began a 5-year trek to Jupiter just last month - will bring us some equally stunning shots of Saturn's neighbor.
Let's just say that I'm really looking forward to seeing those photos of Jupiter, as they promise to be similarly remarkable.

PARIS - Scientists examining the remains of Napoleon Bonaparte admit they are "deeply puzzled" by the discovery of a half-inch long microchip embedded in his skull.
They say the mysterious object could be an alien implant - suggesting that the French emperor was once abducted by a UFO!
"The possible ramifications of this discovery are almost too enormous to comprehend," declared Dr. Andre Dubois, who made the astonishing revelation in a French medical journal.
"Until now, every indication has been that victims of alien abduction are ordinary people who play no role in world events.
"Now we have compelling evidence that extraterrestrials acted in the past to influence human history - and may continue to do so!"
Dr. Dubois made the amazing find while studying Napoleon's exhumed skeleton on a 140,000 grant from the French government.
"I was hoping to learn whether he suffered from a pituitary disorder that contributed to his small stature," he explained.
But instead the researcher found something far more extraordinary: "As I examined the interior of the skull, my hand brushed across a tiny protrusion.
"I then looked at the area under a magnifying glass - and was stunned to find that the object was some kind of super-advanced microchip."
From the extent of bone growth around the chip, the expert believes it was implanted when Bonaparte was young.
"Napoleon vanished from sight for a period of several days in July 1794, when he was 25. He later claimed he'd been held prisoner during the Themidorian coup - but no record of that arrest exists. I believe that is when the abduction took place."

According to NASA's Instagram account, photographer Chris Perry captured the amphibian's "one giant leap" in a single frame by a still camera on a sound trigger. The launch took place at Wallops Flight Facility in Virginia.
A NASA representative confirmed that the photo is real and was not altered in any way.

Universe Today speculated that the frog had stumbled upon a pool beneath the launchpad that collects water discharged by the high-volume water deluge system activated during launches. The system helps muffle the sound of launches and minimizes damage to the launchpad.
While this picture paints a less-than-"stellar" portrait of NASA's environmental impact, the agency hastens to note that the launch facility is located in the Wallops Island National Wildlife Refuge, most of which NASA leases to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service "for research and management of declining wildlife in special need of protection."
"During launches, short term disturbance occurs in the immediate vicinity of the launch pads, but the disturbance is short-lived allowing space launches and a wildlife habitat to coexist," NASA writes.
