AUGUST 15, 2013 - UNITED KINGDOM - Lancashire police have dealt with six alleged UFO sightings in the past year.
Six UFO sightings were reported in Lancashire.
According to Freedom of Information Act figures released to the Gazette, police received half a dozen calls from a variety of people reporting all sorts of extradordinary goings on.
The reports included the spotting of Unidentified Flying Objects (UFOs), alien sightings and concerns the US Government is carrying out an harassment campaign.
In answer to a Freedom of Information request police said two of the calls were from residents in Blackpool.
One caller told officers in October last year, aliens were trying to get him and they were listening to all of his conversations.
Police said the caller was believed to have taken a number of tablets and was taken to Blackpool Victoria Hospital for treatment. He was later assessed for mental health issues.
In June this year, police received a call of a man who claimed the US Government was harassing him and when he was younger an alien aircraft implanted something in his brain and body, which was interfering with his thoughts.
After speaking at length with the man, police said he admitted to having mental health problems.
Police also received a call from a woman in Preston who said a UFO was hovering over her house preventing her from sleeping. Police checks showed the woman had mistaken the police helicopter for a UFO.
A drunken caller in Burnley contacted police to report seeing an alien and a concerned mother in Skelmesdale was asking for help after her son claimed to have seen aliens.
The final call police received was from a school in Chorley who contacted police to explain they were letting off balloons, in case they were to be reported as UFOs.
A spokesman for Lancashire police, said: "All calls to Lancashire police are dealt with in a sensitive and sensible manner." - FLEETWOOD WEEKLY NEWS.

"SUPERIMPOSED? A photo imaging expert said the photo does not appear to have been edited, but thought the so-called 'alien' looked too human"
A local UFO association has released a photograph taken at a high mountain lake which it says shows the image of an "alien being," but skeptics say it may be a digitally edited or multiple-exposure photo.
The Taiwan UFOlogy Society (TUFOS) announced on Saturday that a photograph taken by a policeman at Jiaming Lake () - located at an altitude of 3,310m on the southern section of the Central Mountains in Taitung County - shows what appears to be a large alien creature, with a transparent body and webbed hands, walking in the distance.
Due to its strange features, TUFOS executives say it does not look like a human being, but must have come from outer space.
TUFOS chairman Huang Chao-ming () said the policeman gave them the photo, which was taken on his iPhone 4 mobile phone, for examination.
A close-up image of the so-called "alien being" shows double-exposure lines at the bottom. To determine whether the photo is genuine, TUFOS spent a year having experts on mobile phone technology, computer imagery and camera photography inspect the photo, but it has yet to make a conclusive finding.
Some experts have said it may be a leftover image from the mobile phone's flash memory that was superimposed on the scenery shot.
Huang said if it was a faulty superimposed image, why did the "alien being" just happen to be at the top of the mountain ridge line?
The photograph was taken by Chen Yung-huang (), a policeman who went on a hiking trip to Jiaming Lake with his colleagues on May 14 last year.
Chen told Huang that he did not notice anything unusual, and only discovered the strange figure in the picture after coming down the mountains.
Chien Jung-tai (), an expert on photo image processing, was shown the photograph on Saturday. Chien initially said that a shaking motion when the shot was being taken might have produced the double lines in what might be a leftover image.
However, it was interesting to see that the double lines in the leftover image appear only in a small section of the photo, he said.
Chien also compared the pixel elements of the double lines below the "alien being" and the image above it, and said they do not differ much, adding that it does not appear to be an edited photo.
However, he said that if it were an "alien being," then it should have a body structure and composition different from that of a human being.
Judging from the photo, the creature appears to have a huge body, but if it is transparent, it would not have an outline and a shadow, he said.
"If it was an alien being from another planet, with its own special biological structure, then we would be unable to interpret its shape and appearance, based on what we see from creatures on Earth," he said.
When asked if the image might be caused by a superimposition of a leftover frame image from the mobile phone's flash memory, Chien said that was a question that can only be answered by experts in optical imaging technology for flash memory devices.
Based on his experience with digital cameras and mobile phones, he said the probability of having a multiple-exposure image superimposed at just the right place in an outdoor scenery picture was low.

JUNE 05, 2013 - UNITED STATES - A witness in New Jersey has suggested that mass abduction by manipulative extraterrestrials have been occurring in the region. The witness talks about possible communication with alien beings on 20 May, 2013 at 12:00 AM. Here's a look at 10 Soviet cosmonauts who realized their dreams of becoming astronauts - embarking on careers that are like the stuff of storybooks. From the first man and woman to venture into space, to the first cosmic explorer to come down with space sickness, these adventurers remain true champions of the stars.10. VALENTINA TERESHKOVA Image Source Cosmonaut Valentina Tereshkova became the first woman to explore outer space when, on June 16, 1963, she was launched from Russia's secret station in Baikonur, central Asia. Tereshkova was aboard the Vostok 6 spacecraft, and in just under three days, she orbited Earth 49 times, traveling a total of 1,250,000 miles! Tereshkova's voyage ended on June 19, 1963, when she successfully parachuted into Kazakhstan. And the 20,000-foot parachute jump was probably the most natural stage of the trip for Tereshkova, who was selected for cosmonaut training partly because she was an amateur parachutist. The female cosmonaut program was disbanded in 1969, and Svetlana Savitskaya became only the second woman to travel into space in 1982, almost 20 years after Tereshkova. 9. GHERMAN TITOV Image Source On August 6, 1961, 25-year-old Gherman Titov became the second man to travel into space, just four months after fellow cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin's historic first mission. What's more, today Titov still holds the record as the youngest person in space. In total, Titov was amongst the stars for 25 hours and 18 minutes. Amazingly, this is a record that still stands to this day. Bykovsky orbited the Earth a total of 82 times in four days, 23 hours and 54 minutes, traveling a total of 2,060,000 miles. Bykovsky soared into space twice more during his career, aboard Soyuz 22 and Soyuz 31 spacecraft, respectively. The Soyuz 22 mission launched on September 15, 1976 and lasted nearly eight days. The objective of the mission was to take pictures of Earth with a special camera, for research purposes. The flight also included the study of plants and fish in space and the effects of cosmic rays on the human eye. 7. VALERI POLYAKOV Image Source Valeri Polyakov holds the record for the most continuous amount of time spent in space. He gained this distinction by logging over 14 months in a row aboard the Mir space station between January 1994 and March 1995. Polyakov, who gained a doctorate degree and went on to specialize in astronautic medicine, conducted medical, physiological and hygiene research at the station. Polyakov's stint on board the Mir station proved that humans could maintain good physical and mental health during prolonged periods spent beyond the Earth's atmosphere. His time in space provided us with vital information on how the human body reacts to environments with little to no gravity, findings that could prove useful for eventual manned missions to Mars.6. ANDRIYAN NIKOLAYEV Image Source Andriyan Nikolayev flew endurance record-setting missions aboard the Vostok 3 (solo) and Soyuz 9 spacecraft. The Vostok 3 spaceflight was launched on August 11, 1962 and lasted for almost four days. Nikolayev orbited the Earth 64 times and became the first person to transmit a television broadcast live from space. Blasting off on June 1, 1970, cosmonaut Vitali Sevastyanov accompanied Nikolayev on the Soyuz 9 mission, which lasted for a remarkable 17 days and 17 hours, breaking the previous endurance flight record set by NASA's 1965 Gemini 7 mission. During their time in space, both men conducted experiments, played chess with the on-ground control team (the first space chess match), watched a World Cup soccer game, communicated with their families via television links, and even voted. The length of the flight and the effects of extended periods of weightlessness left Nikolayev and Sevastyanov weak, but both men recovered about 10 days later, and their experiences showed the importance of exercising in space.5. VLADIMIR KOMAROV Image Source In 1959, Vladimir Komarov, a brilliant engineer in the Soviet Air Force, was one of 20 men - out of some 3,000 pilots - selected for cosmonaut training. Although Komarov's knowhow and practical skills were strong, some physical problems, including a heart irregularity, threatened his career. Nevertheless, helped by his engineering expertise, Komarov persevered, and he was finally sent into space on October 12, 1964, for a 24-hour flight amidst the stars on board the Voskhod 1 spacecraft. On April 23, 1967, Komarov was again sent into space - this time on the Soyuz 1 mission - and in the process he became the first person to explore outer space multiple times. Although Komarov and Yuri Gagarin (his backup crewman) had both raised concerns about design flaws in the Soyuz 1 spacecraft, the problems were not dealt with. As it turned out, the flight was ill fated from the beginning, and a number of systems failed. What's more, although Komarov managed to re-enter Earth's atmosphere, his main parachute did not open properly and he died on impact - the first human to perish during a space mission.4. SERGEI KRIKALEV Image Source Cosmonaut and mechanical engineer Sergei Krikalev has logged more time in outer space than any other person in history. Incredibly, Krikalev has spent a total of 803 days, nine hours and 39 minutes in space, spread out over six separate missions. One such mission saw him on board the Mir space station between May 1991 and March 1992, just as the Soviet Union was breaking up - a circumstance that led many to dub him "the last Citizen of the USSR." An experienced mechanical engineer, Krikalev helped to devise ways for the rescue team to carry out repairs on the malfunctioning Salyut 7 space station in 1985 - and he was picked as a cosmonaut shortly afterward. Krikalev has also logged 41 hours and eight minutes of spacewalks. And not only that, but he has an asteroid named after him as well! 3. KONSTANTIN FEOKTISTOV Image Source Born in 1926, Konstantin Feoktistov became an engineer with a doctorate in physics. He was also the first civilian and first non-member of the Soviet Communist Party to travel into space. Working for Mikhail Tikhonravov's OKB (design bureau), the team Feoktistov was part of helped design both the Sputnik satellites and the Vostok, Voskhod and Soyuz space capsules. In 1964, Feoktistov began cosmonaut training. Then, in a whirlwind decision, later that year he was sent into space aboard the Voskhod 1 craft, alongside Vladimir Komarov and physician-cosmonaut Boris Yegerov. Interestingly, this was the first spaceflight that didn't require cosmonauts to wear special suits. Voskhod 1 was launched on October 12, 1964, and the flight lasted 24 hours and 17 minutes. It was to be Feoktistov's only flight, but his impact on space technology was far from finished. He went on to lead a Soviet space design bureau and worked on the designs for two space stations, Salyut and Mir. The Feoktistov crater on the far side of the Moon is also named after him. 2. ALEXEY LEONOV Image Source On March 18, 1965, Alexey Leonov became the first person to walk in space, and furthermore, he displayed amazing courage while doing so. Leonov floated outside the Voskhod 2 capsule for 10 minutes, feeling euphoric, "like a seagull with its wings outstretched, soaring high above the Earth." However, events took a turn for the worse when Leonov turned to go back inside. Because of the pressure difference, his suit had inflated to the point where his feet were no longer in his boots, his fingers were no longer in his gloves, and he couldn't fit back inside the airlock. Leonov discovered that the automatic guidance system for atmospheric re-entry wasn't working properly. And although he and teammate Pavel Belyayev oriented the spacecraft manually, a cable failed to disconnect during re-entry and dragged the orbital module behind them, sending them into a spin. They landed in the heart of Siberia, 1,242 miles beyond Perm, Russia, and were buried in over six feet of snow. The pair endured temperatures below -22 ^0F but managed to survive until rescuers were able to reach them. Despite this terrifying experience, Leonov went into space again, as part of the Apollo-Soyuz (Soyuz 19) voyage in 1975. In mid October 1996 (date unsure)I was a uniformed Police Officer with South Yorkshire Police working in Sheffield.At the time of the incident stationed at Deepcar Police station.This is in the north of the City and covers a rural area which borders the Peak District National Park. In the early hours of a night shift (say between 0300 to 0400hrs) I was out on mobile patrol duties unaccompanied in a marked Police vehicle (a diesel engined Land Rover Defender model) and in St.Margaret Avenue Deepcar when I had noticed a male on foot near some dwelling houses who I decided to confront about his presence on the street at that time of day.In turning the vehicle around to confront the male he had then disappeared from my view.I decided to park and wait in the street to see if the male re appeared again. Whilst waiting and carrying out my observations for the male a short while later my attention was attracted to an incident on my horizon in the night sky ahead of me.What I saw was something ahead of me in the night sky that was projecting a white beam of light similar to a searchlight downwards towards the ground at an angle.I would estimate the event (craft) to be 1.000 yards or more ahead of me in the North. I believed it to be taking place above or near the A616 Stocksbridge By Pass road which has (had) a bad history of vehicular accidents with fatalities.So I was concerned about my sighting.However I had had no radio messages relayed to me that any incident was taking place in the area.I was carrying a Police UHF (Ultra High Frequency) personal radio and the vehicle was fitted with a VHF (Very High Frequency) radio.Both of these radios were operating on different radio channels. At that time all I could see was a beam of white light being projected downwards towards the ground at an angle.I could see no other lights at that time.I could not see any shape or form of what (craft) the light was being projected from.All I could see was a black sky with no light pollution at that location.My own position was at an elevated position in Deepcar and the event was ahead of me on the horizon which meant that if it was taking place over or near the A616 road it was obviously quite elevated at that location (which is down hill from my viewpoint). I was concerned about the appearance of what appeared to be a search light from the night sky.I could hear no noise from the sky at that time.I knew that (at that time) the South Yorkshire Police helicopter SY99 was actually based in West Yorkshire and did not (then) fly after midnight unless it had some dire justification for a night flight after midnight.Despite what I knew my thought was that it may have been a Police Helicopter using a searchlight ahead of it. I then used my UHF radio to contact the control room at Ecclesfield Police Station Sheffield about my sighting and to ask whether the Police helicopter had been scrambled to any incident taking place on or near the A616.I also used my vehicle VHF radio to contact force operations room at Police Headquarters Sheffield.I was told categorically that the force helicopter was grounded at base. During my radio transmissions I had continued to observe the event ahead of me on the horizon.This may have lasted several minutes. What startled me was that when I made the radio transmissions (it may have been coincidence or not-I personally do NOT think it was) the beam of light switched off and then I suddenly became aware that something of a vast size and dark in colour suddenly moved quickly towards me in a straight line and was then directly above my vehicle in St.Margaret Avenue.I heard no sound of any craft approaching me.The move was very quick for the distance traveled from the horizon.I saw no lighting or any illumination on the object as it approached.I could just differentiate that there was a large dark object moving in the dark sky directly towards me. The next thing I knew was that as I was still seated in the Police vehicle the whole street around my vehicle was suddenly illuminated by a fantastic bright blue light which was clearly coming from directly above my vehicle in the night sky.I had never experienced any such light before or since.It was similar to an intense blue neon sign light.Sodium street lighting was illuminated in the street at the time but this blue light was tremendous in its power.I bet you could have found a needle on the road it was so intense. I sat in the Land Rover with the engine running (it did not stop at all during any of the incident).I tried to look up above the vehicle through the front windscreen but this is very difficult in a Land Rover Defender model as the screen is near vertical.At the time I was actually scared to get out of the vehicle because of the bright blue light which I believe WAS being directed down on my vehicle lighting up the surrounding area also.It was very worrying what was happening and I was concerned what may happen to me if I alighted the vehicle with the blue light above me. The blue light was illuminated for maybe a few minutes (or so it seemed) and then it went off.At that time I felt more reassured to exit the vehicle.I jumped out of the door and looked directly above me.At that time I could see that there was a very large black triangular object hovering above me/moving forwards very slowly in the night sky.At this time I could see the underside of the object only.I could clearly see the triangular shape.It was black but visible through contrast with the sky.It was making very little noise other than a sort of whirring noise that would not be heard at a distance.No way was it noisy like an helicopter which you can hear approaching from quite a distance.No way was it noisy like the engine of a jet aircraft or turbo propeller aircraft either. I was shocked at what I was observing.It was not a conventional aircraft that I would know.At that time I saw that the craft was showing three red lights to the underside of it.These were near to the corners of the triangular shaped object.I thought they appeared like rotating red lights like parabolic beacons used on top of old fashioned police vehicles (But RED).The object was low flying (maybe at a few hundred feet altitude I estimate) and so I could see the three red lights which appeared small.I estimate the triangle may have been a few hundred feet wide or more. At the time I thought about U.S.Stealth aircraft.At the time I saw it I thought why would one be over this area?.Why would such a stealth aircraft give away its position by operating a searchlight (the white beam of light projected in the first instance)?.Why would such a stealth aircraft give away its position by then projecting down vertically a source of brilliant blue light to illuminate the whole area?.Why would such a stealth aircraft have some form of (what appeared primitive design) red position lights beneath the underside giving away its presence?. As I watched the underside of the object move overhead it suddenly moved forward again (Southwards)without noise and with rapid acceleration.I watched it go southwards to the horizon beyond Penn Nook Close (housing).I saw that it moved to the left beyond this housing and then suddenly changed direction to go right (as if thrown in reverse) and then suddenly left again on its original course of flight.The speed of the moves was very fast and I did not believe any conventional fixed wing aircraft capable of doing what I saw at that point.The object continued to move very rapidly in this South Westerly direction and I then lost sight of it.It was heading in the direction of Stocksbridge Golf Club on Royd Lane and beyond that towards Bolsterstone Village/beyond to Broomhead Reservoir/beyond that The Peak District National Park. When I had initially used my Police radios I had asked about the Police Helicopter.I informed control of what I was seeing at that time (ie only the white searchlight type beam at first).After the object had moved towards me and overhead my position I did not use my radio again at that point.I was in awe of what I was witnessing and wanted to give it my full attention.After I had witnessed the object move away from my location in the south westerly direction I contacted my control room and told them what I had seen (ie.in my own opinion a large black triangular UFO) and told them it was my intention to proceed in the direction of the flight path of the object for any further sightings.I did not seem to get any response from my own control room to the effect that they took me seriously. I did travel at speed in the police vehicle alone out in the direction the object had flown without further sighting of it or any further lights in the sky.I drove some distance out towards the Peak District National Park. Out there at night it is pitch black countryside.I was alone.I had no interest shown from the control room that anyone else might be attending the area with me so I called off my own pursuit. Honestly I was afraid to go out into the middle of nowhere and make myself vulnerable to whatever might happen. On the night of this incident three Police officers were on duty at Deepcar Police station.We had to cover 100 square miles of our area.I was alone in one car and 2 other officers were together in another marked police vehicle on mobile patrol at that same time. They were on patrol in the Oughtibridge area of Sheffield about six miles from my location during the event. Later that morning we spoke at Deepcar Police station about what I had witnessed.The senior officer of the two stated they had seen the brilliant blue light in the sky over Deepcar but knew nothing else of what it was.I know this officer had his own experience of UFO sightings on a night shift during the early 1980's in Sheffield when I was on the same shift as him.On the night of my sighting this officer had a brother in the Police working at Attercliffe Police Station Sheffield (about 9 miles away as the crow flies) also on a night shift.I know my colleague spoke with his brother at Attercliffe and he and officers on his night shift had also witnessed bright blue lights in the sky as well but I know no more detail than that. When I had my own sighting there was no one around.The only person I had seen was the man in the street I had seen and was looking for before the event.I do not know of any other reports having been made that night or subsequent about what I had witnessed myself. It may also be interesting to note that this area where I had my sighting/event has also been linked with other paranormal events. These other events have not been experienced by me but have included sightings by a number of people of alleged ghosts of a group of young children in victorian style dress dancing around near an electricity pylon off Pea Royd Lane Stocksbridge (about 1000 yards as the crow flies/different direction from where I first observed my own UFO) and alleged sightings of a Lancaster Bomber "Ghost Plane" seen by people in the same locality (Lancaster Bombers apparently did practice runs in the area for the bouncing bomb in WW2 using local reservoirs) and both these events have received media attention and I believe investigations. I never reported my own experience at the time or later to any media. Some years after the event I saw a TV programme titled "open skies closed minds" which commented on sightings of Black triangular UFOs seen over Belgium and witness testimony and photographs-one taken by a senior officer in the Belgian air force.This was a Black Triangular UFO with three red lights on the underside.When I saw this programme on TV I said immediately that was the same object (or very similar) to what I had seen over Deepcar Sheffield in mid October 1996.I had never taken photographs myself as I was not in possession of a camera on duty. I know I did not lose any time the night of the incident as I did check my wristwatch sometime at the start of the event and after it. I did do this because I have read and heard that people who have undergone these type of experiences have told of "missing time" after the event. I retired from South Yorkshire Police in 2001.I have never seen anything like what I saw that night before or after that night.I doubt I ever will again.I was a Police Officer for 20 years and regularly worked night shifts as routine.This event was the one and only time I have ever seen or experienced anything like that on a night shift.
