My friends dropped me off at a c-train station so I could take the train the rest of the way home after a board meeting. It was just after 9 PM, twilight, sky was still pretty blue, with just a few scattered clouds. I crossed the tracks to get to the side of the terminal I needed to be on, bought my ticket and when I turned around and stepped out onto the platform two round dark objects caught my eye. They were visible above some tall trees on the other side of the block. They did not seem vary large but looked like they were very high in the sky. They hovered and did not seem to emit any sound. They were both in close proximity to each other. They were more or less stationary only moving slightly. Like they were being rocked about by the wind but were maintaining the same position.Kind of like buoys in water.They did not emit any light. The one on the right looked like it had several much smaller dark objects spinning around it. Kind of looked like a swarm of flies buzzing around it. There were very few other people around, but no one else seemed to take notice and I did not point them out to anyone. I tried to take a picture but could not get a good shot with the camera on my phone as the objects were to far away. I observed them in this state for about 3-4 min until the train arrived. I sat in a seat where I could continue to observe the objects through the window. They seemed to remain still as the train traveled north. I lost track of them after the train passed through an underground tunnel. We have a busy international airport here so I observe planes and helicopters in the sky regularly and these objects did not seem at all similar to that type of craft. I considered that they may be balloons or kites of some kind but it seemed odd how they were so high up and not moving at all how you would expect a kite or ballon to move. I know some commercial remote control drones can hover and go quite high, but there was two of them and very close together and no noise and I could not see any apparatus that devises like that typically have. ie: hellicopter blades, wings or fans. I'm hoping someone else saw it or if anyone could give me an explanation of what these objects might have been, I would be curious to know as I have never seen anything quite like that in the sky before.

At the risk of opening the debate about my involvement in the investigation of the Roswell Slides thought I haven't talked to Don in more than a year and much of what I know has come from Tom, I will note that the slide circulating on the Internet is the real deal. This is what they were given and have been attempting to vet for over two years. For some reason I cannot get photographs to load on this blog, though I have tried everything I can think of in the last several hours, and have even used other computers. The best I can do is note that the slide was published here:

You'll have to scroll down through some messages to see the image... or you can search for another example elsewhere. It seems that the slide has been shown on a number of web sites and blogs (too bad I can't be one of them).

I am told that the slides held by Tom and Don are of much better quality, the color is sharper, the image is clearer, but this is the first look that most of us have had of it.

I will also note that this discussion of dating the slides is a little off track because no matter what is learned about the when the film was manufactured and the methodology of Kodak's developing process, in the end, all that is available is the photograph. It is interesting, but I fear that it will do little to convince the world that aliens crashed at Roswell. I have been taking a somewhat wait and see attitude, I do not know what they have done or who they contacted to validate the Kodak information, nor do I know the name of the "Lieutenant" in the one short clip. All I know for certain today is that the image we have is of the actual slide.

Some time ago, good mate Neil Arnold asked me if I would write the Foreword for his new book, "SHADOWS IN THE SKY: THE HAUNTED AIRWAYS OF BRITAIN". Well, "of course" I bloody would! So, Neil fired the Word doc over to me, I eagerly devoured it, and duly sent Neil my hastily pounded out words of introduction to his mighty tome.

But, last week, I received in the mail the finished piece of work, which is why I'm bringing it up now. Now I'm not just saying this because we both like the Sex Pistols, Oasis and Motley Crue, but "SHADOWS IN THE SKY" is a book that, if you're a definitive Fortean, and/or are interested in Brit-based things of a paranormal, supernatural, cryptozoological, and/or ufological nature, then this is the book for you.

The production is excellent, as is the layout. But, coupled with the fantastic artwork of yet another good mate, Simon Wyatt, and also Alan Friswell and Adam Smith, "SHADOWS IN THE SKY" is the perfect piece of work for indulging in some late-night reading by the proverbial flickering candle.

One of the reasons I enjoy reading Neil's books is that not only does he have a great knowledge of British forteana, folklore, mythology and mystery, but he has a great passion and enthusiasm for such issues, too.

For Neil, like me, there's still something exciting and mysterious about ancient woodland, ruined castles, old haunted villages, snow-covered hills, late-night tales around the fireplace, and centuries-old legend. And that shines through in Neil's writing, which is informative, intelligent and entertaining.

Why's it called "SHADOWS IN THE SKY"? Because it deals with the mysteries of the skies, of course! And there's plenty of them. But, rather than waffle on and on, instead take a look at my Foreword for Neil's book, which I have copy-pasted below. And when you've read it, go and get a copy of "SHADOWS IN THE SKY"!

It is, as we say, where I originally come from, bostin'! (That means pretty damn good, in case "bostin" flummoxed you...)

And with that said, here's my Foreword:

When Neil Arnold asked me if I would write the Foreword to this very book - "Shadows in the Sky "- I quickly and enthusiastically said: "Yes!" Not just because Neil is a good mate who shares similar tastes in music and embraces the idea of living life to the full, but also because - as is the case with all of Neil's books - his new one is a damned fine read!

There's often a danger that when compiling and writing a book on countless cases and incidents of a distinctly paranormal nature, the finished product can come across as being overly sterile and encyclopedic. In other words: highly informative, but as downright dull as dishwater.

Thankfully, Neil is the sort of author who astutely realizes that capturing the attention and imagination of the reader is as important as presenting the evidence. And that's what I like about Neil's work: he's a good, solid researcher, but one who also knows how to craft a fine and captivating account that is as factual as it is spellbinding.

And that's precisely what you get with "Shadows in the Sky": a mighty and mysterious tome best devoured by candlelight on a thunderous, chilled night. And if you happen to be in some spooky old house at the time, well, all the better!

So, with that said, what, precisely, is "Shadows in the Sky" all about? Put simply, it's a first-class study of strange, bizarre and, at times, downright terrifying phenomena seen in the skies of the green and pleasant British Isles.

No-one should be surprised to learn that Neil devotes a whole section of his book to the controversy surrounding UFOs - and he does so in a fashion demonstrating that whatever the nature of the phenomenon, it's a very ancient and mysterious one.

But, flying saucers and aliens are not the only things that pop up on Neil's radar. Date: October 10 2013 Time: 7:45 AM to 7:50 AM Location: Stevenson Expressway going into Downtown Chicago, somewhere near Midway airport. Details: me and my mom were driving to downtown Chicago when we saw two unmoving points of light that looked like stars above the horizon.i only noticed them because they looked like stars and i know you cant see stars during the day, also i thought it was strange they didn't move so they couldn't be planes. they were placed apart from eachother horizontally one a little lower than the other. the two points as i said did not move but they would fade in and out. there were planes in the sky at various altitudes but all moved steadily and none shone as brightly if at all. the "stars" eventually faded out to much smaller points, eventually i either lost track of them or they just disappeared. there were no buildings or towers nearby that these lights could have come from. at first i thought they might be planes but when i saw they didn't move i knew they weren't, they stayed in one place for too long to be planes. weather: some clouds low on the horizon but clear skies everywhere else. the points were above the clouded horizon quite far up in the sky. second sighting same day 8:20 AM Location: driving on Lake Shore Drive North east direction toward Chicago. i saw one smaller point of light in the sky above Chicago. they appeared to be faint and faded in and out a couple of times before disappearing. at about that time i saw another faint light flickered over the lake a few times i saw two helicopters, one over the lake hovering in place, another moving over the city. neither seemed high up enough to be the points of light and they were black. it is possible that the points of light could have been reflections on helicopters but unlikely. the points of light didn't appear to be any sort of plane or helicopter and they would probably have to be much higher up to appear so small and distant. i know what helicopters and planes look like at high altitudes, and these points of lights didn't resemble either. later the same day,maybe 3 hours or so had passed since the first sightings i saw a couple more of these lights as we were driving away from Chicago. both were very faint and brief, one appeared to be in front of some thin clouds, either that or it was shining through the cloud. as we moved away from the city however i no longer saw these lights. we drove out to indiana that day for some errands and i scanned the sky there as well. no lights. it appears that these lights can only be seen near the Chicago area and over the lake. up until this point i have never seen a UFO. so i was very excited when i saw these. i have tried to explain them many ways, like maybe their helicopters? very unlikely. weather balloons? im not even sure what those look like but i dont think thats what they were. i spent the rest of the day scanning the sky for any similar phenomena, but i haven't sighted anything since. i do plan to if i get the chance bring my telescope and a camera to Downtown Chicago or somewhere nearby to see if i can get pictures. unfortunately though my camera is old and not good quality so im not sure what good that would do. if anyone has seen these strange star like objects near Chicago please let me know, or even if you have sighted them else where. this is my first post here but i am sure that people will be able to comment. i really would appreciate feed back. also if you have any explanations for what i saw let me know. if it turns out to be something normal and terrestrial i may be a bit disappointed but i still would want to know, i am definitely open to any explanations.UFO NewsUFO News on FacebookEviland News Just For You
