Mother and I both saw this as it flew over a field on south salem road.We first noticed it while heading east on York lane off to the north or to the skies on our left. As it was at this point was just a spot light floating in the sky and appeared to be slowly turning east as it was facing south at first sight. I DO NOT put much stock in lights in the sky so I wrote it off as a helicopter using a spotlight. Then we turned north off York lane onto south Salem. When we passed a red brick house on the left. I saw a triangle shaped craft between 50 and 75 feet off the ground.At first glance I could not make sense of what I was looking at. Then it looked to change shape,a second later as we were at this point directly under it. I screamed at mother to stop the car so I could get I-phone footage of it. But she was terrified and looked at it once but refused to take a second look. And even sped up to avoid it. I stuck my head out the window and watched it roll upward with no forward momentum. Then it stopped and I could see it plain as day as there was a 3/4 moon directly behind it. There were a line of cars behind us. So someone else had to have seen it. I can only hope others saw it and will report what they saw to provide validity to what we witnessed. Last I saw of it it was heading toward the west on a path that I am certain would have taken it directly over Novella Arkansas which is on the west side of the river www of our position at that time. I believe I lost some time. Please note the craft moved off at a slow steady rate of approximately 20 Mph. Until it was just a light in the distance. I pleaded with mother to chase after it. It's behaviour made me feel they were looking for a secluded place to land perhaps for repairs.I would like someone to go with me to try and find a landing spot somewhere close to the river as they often land near large water sources and I think I know exactly where they put down at. We were in our courtyard and saw a huge + shaped object with a similarly sized curved object next to it. It was a burnished metal and sitting silently in the air. I would estimate it at 5-8000 feet high, 300+ feet in length. I pointed at it with my phone and thought I got a picture of it. I ran inside to get my camera. I called to my room mate and she came out and witnessed it as it was crossing the tree line of our building. My new Sony SX50HS camera refused to focus with multiple attempts. We ran into our neighbor and our neighbor first noticed one light and than another at that piont I turned to see the lights, at this piont another apeared than another for a total of four lights in a straight line. The first light stopped than so on. The lights all stopped in a formation of a diamond than one disappeared and the formation was that of a triangle. This was all cuaght on video. PETER A MCCUE. ZONES OF STRANGENESS: AN EXAMINATION OF PARANORMAL AND UFO HOT SPOTS. AUTHOR HOUSE, 2012.

Peter McCue, a clinical psychologist and long time member of the Society for Psychical Research, asks whether there are any areas where anomalous experiences are more widespread than others, the so called window areas. After an initial examination of the evidence for ghosts, poltergeists, UFOs and bigfoot (the latter two based on rather inadequate sources), he takes a careful look at specific areas. The include Clapham Wood, Warminster, the 'Welsh Triangle', Rendlesham Forest, Cannock Chase. the Pennines, Bonnybridge, Ben Macdhui, the Loch Ashie Area near Inverness, some minor ones in the UK including Sudbury/Borley, Blueberry Hill, Dartmoor, Daresbury and Carrington; then looks at those in the USA including the Yakima Reservation; Unitah Basin and the Skywalker ranch, the San Luis Valley, the Hudson Valley. His last pieces are on Puerto Rico and the Bermuda Triangle.

In a good number of these cases the author has made real attempts at his own investigation, and in several of them points to a variety of contradictions and discrepancies in the various tales, though he remains convinced that a portion of them are "genuinely paranormal". The areas can be vague, if "The Pennines" runs from North Staffordshire up to Todmorden and Pendle Hill, it is covering a huge amount of ground!

Even in the absence of investigators, entrepreneurs and charismatic witnesses, it seems probable that suggestion, fatigue, anxiety, and in some cases the bandwagon effect and the desire to tell a good story. How many of these stories started out as fairly mundane affairs, only to be 'sexed up' by writers is anyone's guess.

In a couple of cases I know the area concerned, I was a local history librarian in the Runcorn-Warrington area for 36 years, and I know that many strange stories were told. In the Runcorn area, this may have been stimulated by a well known poltergeist case in the 1950s, and the presence of early contactee, Jim Cook. A fair proportion of the stories were also collected by a student folklorist in the early 1970s. Warrington also had a fair share of ghost and paranormal stories, but also a mountain of fakelore generated by a local charity worker, some of which I have seen reported as fact in books and Internet sites.

The tales of the Daresbury timeslip were amusing. A colleague lived in Preston Brook, and I used to tell her to go through the timewarp on the way to Warrington, arrive before she set out and then ring herself up and tell herself to have a lie-in as she had already arrived! Sadly the tales of drivers ending up miles from where they should have and hours late had a prosaic explanation, a notoriously confusing road network, in which a moments loss of concentration and a missed exit could easily send you miles from where you wanted to go. In the case of Carrington, hardly a hot spot, except in the sense that the petrochemical works there used to burn gas and there were some quite spectacular flames.

In order to demonstrate the existence of "hot spots", one would have to demonstrate the existence of 'cold spots', where fewer than usual paranormal events are recorded, and I am not sure how this could be done (I must say Urmston seems a good case for one, but then I haven't gone out asking for stories).

Of particular interest perhaps in McCue's study of the strange experiences suggestive of a phantom army around Loch Ashie area. This suggests that some odd experiences have origins in other than the tales told by charismatic individuals. McCue has analysed a couple of classic "phantom army stories", including the notorious phantom army of Edge Hill and found the corroborating evidence lacking. This reinforces the suspicion that the pamphlets describing the phantom re-enactment were not factual journalism but pieces of theological cum political propaganda.

It is clear that McCue is much more at home in the theatre of psychical research than say ufology, where he appears to think that Tim Good and Jorge Martin are halfway reliable sources of information.

It is especially sad, after showing some fair degree of critical faculty, that McCue's explanation for these alleged anomalies is "higher intelligences", for which perhaps one should just read 'the gods'. So we are back to explaining anomalies as the sports of the gods (or there more politically correct substitutes). Back to thunder being the wrath of Jupiter and volcanoes being the wrath of Vulcan. UNKNOWN CREATURE IN KANSAS

Leawood, KS-- I was in my kitchen making lunch, when I looked out the window and saw what looked like a greyhound sniffing around my back yard. As I looked at it something looked a little bit off about it, and noticed it had a rugged looking face with black eyes and its ears seemed a like they had been charred or deformed. I looked a little more closely, and noticed it only had some thin hair around its neck. I began to think maybe it was a deer, but the way it was walking was more canine like than a more graceful deer. Well maybe I am looking at a coyote I thought, but I usually only see those at night. Plus they are pretty scrawny and thin. This animal was very thin, but it was also very long and lanky. As it jogged away, the last thought I was left with was that I had just seen a Chupacabras!

I am an illustrator and storyboard artist, so since i did not have my phone to take a picture or video, I felt compelled to sit down and draw out what I saw. This is my illustration of the strange creature I saw.
