HBCC UFO Research Note: Another major UFO event has taken place in the Midwest of the United States. People were pulled over to the side of the road and the police were there observing the UFO as well. I certainly would like to request that if anyone knows anything about this event to please write to Brian Vike at hbccufo@telus.net or go through the website at www.hbccufo.org as I am searching for other eyewitnesses and more detail. Also if an officer who has any knowledge of the event, please do contact me. Of course all personal information says private ! Also HBCC UFO Research removed names in this report.

Brian, the unfortunate part of this story is that I didn't experience it first hand. The other unfortunate part is that my coworker would never report this to ANYONE he doesn't personally know for fear of ridicule. When I got to work this morning, my coworker was acting a bit odd. When I greeted him he said ". I gotta tell you something really bizarre. I didn't even tell my wife because she'll think I'm crazy."

My coworker lives in Round Lake, Illinois which is rather far north. He was a short distance from his home on route 120 (I believe he said) which has some farm area and quite a bit of space.

He tensed up and got very wide eyed and intense. This is what he told us (another employee and myself), not verbatim but this is rather close.

As I was driving I saw this huge light at ground level but still above the field it was over. I kept driving but I saw cars pulled over with people out of their cars watching so I pulled over. I asked some people what they thought and I said I thought it was some equipment being used or kids screwing around. But the light just sat there for awhile. Nothing happened so I started to drive away when I noticed the light wasn't getting any smaller. I saw more cars pulled off up ahead again so I pulled over again and watched it for awhile. By this point a cop showed up with his lights on. He asked everyone what was going on, I told him what I thought it was but that something was weird about it. So then another cop/car pulls up and says, 'You can only see it from the one side, I drove around the property.' Now, we all think it some sort of lighting rig. So the cops head out across the field towards the light when it shot directly up in the air like 20 feet and disappeared. NOT flew away, disappeared. The cops came running back pretty freaked out. I hung around while they searched the area and found not a trace of anything out there. At this point is was 11:30pm."

We get off work at 8pm, which would have put him in that area at 8:45. My coworker has a wife and a 3 year old son that he adores. He is an incredibly nice and liable person. In 5 years of working with him I have never heard him exaggerate any details nor have we ever discussed my passion for UFO's and Chemtrails. I try to keep that stuff away from work (until now!). He was genuinely scared when he talked about this. I could see it in his face, clearly. I need to get some more details like what police squad showed up, how big was the light, etc. I wonder if the cops will file a report or if it will get squashed?

Man! I wish I were there! So much stuff is happening in our area (the Midwest). Let's see? Sonic Booms/Earthquake/Chemtrails/Hail Storms/Orbs/Strange Light/Increasing Sightings... How much more needs to happen before we get some answers!? In the meantime I will keep a watchful eye on what going on and continue reporting to your site. Thanks again for providing us with as much proof and truth humanly possible!

Let's say space aliens land. They forcibly take you back to their flying saucer to examine you, possibly as a prelude to intergalactic invasion.

If it were to really happen, it would be the worst sort of experience -- akin to rape, murder and other violent crimes.

Nevertheless, alien abduction has always been the domain of science fiction and unexplained phenomena. In Myrtle Beach, S.C., it's the subject of "Encounters: UFO Experience," a family-friendly exhibition opening on April 6 at Broadway at the Beach.

Visitors will take an interactive journey that showcases ancient mysteries, military involvement with UFOs and pop culture's enthrallment with aliens and outer space.

"The exhibition is divided into seven distinct galleries. The first one is Ancient Encounters, which focuses on the unsolved mysteries of ancient times, megalithic structures that are still questionable today as to how they could have been built with the tools that were available at the time," said Brian Bouquet, who has spent the past five years designing "Encounters" for The Event Agency.

"This gallery also encompasses some Egyptian walls that we've recreated -- hieroglyphics which show very early identifications of flying objects, be it spaceships or what they felt was in the air that was not of this Earth," Bouquet told The Huffington Post.

The exhibition includes recreations of ancient Sumerian tablets, alleged alien skulls, metallic books from caves in Ecuador, Indian Sanskrit tablets and lifesize rock structures from Mayan pyramids and the pyramids of Giza -- all with a focus on piecing together the puzzle of possible ancient extraterrestrial influences on our planet.

The seven galleries that make up the "Encounters" exhibition are:

* Pop Culture

The exhibition is being promoted as family-friendly. And yet, probably the most anticipated interactive encounter promises to be a simulated alien abduction, culminating in a close-up view of the inside of an alien spaceship -- based on eyewitness reported accounts over many years.

How can an alien abduction simulation be family-friendly?

"It's more of an experience than an actual abduction," Bouquet explained. "We have a specific gallery of a bright light experience. You walk in the room where the temperature is different from the rest of the galleries. It's very warm in there, the room is filled with fog, and there are bright lights that are so bright, you can't tell whether you're in the room alone or with other people.

"It's the opposite of being in total darkness. You're in absolute light where you can't identify one foot in front of you. Your vision is somewhat askew. That is the recreation that we've gone for -- it's not the horror of an alien abduction that some people portray it as. We've taken a different approach on what an abduction is in that it's a warm sense and somewhat comforting to be alone in your own space."

But for parents who may feel that this might be a little too intense for small children, the exhibit will include a caution sign and allow them to go around that gallery in an alternative route.

Even the exhibit's general manager, Jessica Rodimon, doesn't like to be frightened, but assured HuffPost that this exhibit really is fun, entertaining and informative.

"I get scared quite a bit and don't really do scary movies or haunted houses. I hate being scared," Rodimon said. "But walking through that one gallery is not scary in the least. You might get a little hesitation, but then you realize everything's OK on the other side. It's not meant to scare people -- it's more meant to open their eyes to the possibility that there are aliens out there."

One of the reasons Myrtle Beach was chosen to host the exhibit was because of numerous UFO sightings in this area -- 59 reported in 2012. Most eyewitnesses have described bright orange lights in the sky and fiery red balls of light over the ocean.

And there've been many videos taken of these lights.

"My concern started growing because of the proximity in which these lights were getting to my immediate house and family, within 100-200 yards away and just 50 feet off the ground," local resident Joe Kiernan told HuffPost.

"These lights seem to be interested in two nearby ponds. They don't look like or move like meteors. They have an arc to them, and just as they look like they're going to come to a complete stop while falling, they'll shoot back up in the air, like they're playing leap frog," Kiernan said.

"They usually travel across the sky with a lot of bright white flashes," he added. "When they're over the ponds, all the flashing stops and they all start glowing a bright orange, and then, one by one, they take off directly toward the ocean."

The creators of this unique exhibition have designed it with a specific approach when it comes to UFOs and aliens.

"Our attitude is that it is real," said Bouquet. "From witness accounts and our research, we have trust in those accounts and we believe that [UFOs and aliens] are real. We hope that people who come through our exhibition open their eyes a little bit and say, 'OK, that is a really unusual finding.'

"There are a lot of facts in there, whether they're witness accounts or documentation. We're hoping people leave our exhibition with a much greater awareness of the (possibility) that extraterrestrial life exists and that it's been to Earth."

"Encounters: UFO Experience" will finish its Myrtle Beach run on Labor Day and embark on its first worldwide tour, following in the footsteps of two other hugely successful touring presentations created by The Event Agency -- "Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition" and "Bodies: The Exhibition."

Hi, I realize this isn't much to report. But I have thought about it for many years and with information I've heard during that time I thought I should say something to somebody. This event happened at night with a clear sky. I was standing outside my home when I saw a small travelling light in the sky which, at first, I thought may have been a plane. However, as I watched this light, travelling in the east, and moving in a southward direction, I noticed it slow dramatically, almost to a stop. Within a few seconds the object shot straight up. It had made a very definite course change on a sharp angle. The object travelled for a very short period, (possibly one second), then disappeared with what appeared to be an explosion, or ? something. The explosion did not make any sound. It only appeared to be explosive because there was a shower, or burst of sparks as it disappeared. After that it was gone. It was not near to me as far as I could tell. It seemed to be a very long distance away. It also appeared as though it might have been in outer space,.... I'm not certain about that part. The only reason I've had a concern about this object for so long is that I know we do not have any technology which would allow any air ships to make such a sharp turn. Nor would it have disappeared so suddenly. That very same night, one of our local television stations reported that local police and some eye witnesses in Nashville had reported seeing a UFO. When this was reported I guess I put two and two together. It probably was the same object. I cannot add anything more to this. As I said, I know it's not much. But I am confident that what I saw did not operate within the technologies we possess now, nor then. I also have another report which happened at about the year of 1984 in another area of Tennessee. This photograph shows the top of our car, which was parked outside my daugher's house in Birmingham a few weeks ago. When we came out the top of the car, which had been clean, showed what appeared to have been some sort of collision with a bird or animal on the roof. Was it an owl? Who knows? Very curious.

OUR MARKETING PLAN TO BE OR NOT TO BE?

Currently we are trying to get a national newspaper interested in either featuring us and our work, or the books themselves. This is proving to be a difficult nut to crack as generally speaking whilst some of them will and have published stories on some of the researchers and the occasional UFO sighting, for some reason they appear to be shunning us. We do find this strange but not unexpected. Is this because we are believers in the existence of something or someone whose daily presence makes itself known on the planet, or are we just in the wrong place at the wrong time?

Two mainstream newspapers have promised to feature us but we are not hopeful of the outcome. We have no doubt that there are some researchers who will suggest that the newspapers have been served with a 'D' notice (a suggestion not to publish) but we will not become involved in any paranoid speculations - we do not believe that the world will end in December 2012, we do not believe that the world is flat and neither do we believe that the Loch Ness Monster will sprout wings! But you can't ignore that UFOs exist!

We did email the "Independent" hoping that they might have been willing to do a follow-up story (1998) but so far nothing! Has there been a change of heart or policy with publishing stories on UFOs, or is it because we are not well known despite having worked our clogs off!

I sent Nick Pope details of the blog the other day and asked him if he had any press contacts; he tells me he can't help and that he no longer has the contacts to put us in touch with anyone on the main news desks. Well, it's not all doom and gloom: we had a review in the National Association of Retired Police Officers (NARPO) and will be getting a review of the books in the local village magazine (sent to 10000 homes and with links online to the USA). Irrespective of our currently unsuccessful attempts to obtain further publicity, we shall continue unabated to publish VOLUME 3 which covers the wave of 1967 when for a short period in October 1967 the skies became the haunt of 'FLYING CROSS UFOS.

"Each result from the planet-hunting Kepler mission's treasure trove of data takes us another step closer to answering the question of whether we are alone in the Universe," said John Grunsfeld, associate administrator of NASA's Science Mission Directorate at the agency's headquarters in Washington. "The Kepler team and its science community continue to produce impressive results with the data from this venerable explorer."

The Kepler team has also found super-Earths and gas giants like Jupiter around other stars. NASA artists compiled retro-style travel posters from three discovered planets.

Kepler finds planets by watching distant stars for fluctuation in light. If the light hitting the telescope drops dramatically and then returns to normal levels, chances are a planet came in between the star and Kepler. Scientists can analyze the data and light filtered by the candidate planet's atmosphere to make guesses at the size, mass and composition.

"With each new discovery of these small, possibly rocky worlds, our confidence strengthens in the determination of the true frequency of planets like Earth," said co-author Doug Caldwell, SETI Institute Kepler scientist at NASA's Ames Research Center at Moffett Field, California. "The day is on the horizon when we'll know how common temperate, rocky planets like Earth are."

The space telescope actually has two crippled stabilizing gyros. But instead of giving up on the mission, engineers are using pressure from photons emitted by the sun to stabilize the telescope. The first space telescope looking for alien worlds is literally balancing on a sunbeam to continue its mission, and that's not science fiction, that's science fact.

Citizen scientists can also participate in the mission. The website PlanetHunters.org contains catalogs of data from K1, the original Kepler mission, and K2, the extended mission making use of the sun to balance the telescope. The K2 data has been sorted through, but Planet Hunters still needs help sifting through the K1 data.

The website's instructions read:

"As the planet passes in front of (or transits) a star, it blocks out a small amount of the star's light, making the star appear a little bit dimmer. You're looking for points on the light curve that appear lower than the rest. When you spot a potential transit, mark each one on the light curve."
