My husband and I were driving from Manhattan, KS to Clay Center, KS, and witnessed a very bright object in the sky to the west. We assumed it was a planet or star, but looked it up and there are none in that direction tonight. The object seemed to stay at about 30 degrees above the horizon, although as we drove further west it seemed to drop lower toward the horizon. Stayed pretty motionless, with lots of bright flashes and colors changing from red, yellow, white, blue. The object did seem to move every now and again but not a lot. We lost sight of the object as we entered Clay Center, as it was hidden below the tree line. Tried to get a video but the camera quality was too low to capture it. We both were curious and wanted to follow it but had to get our little guy to bed.
