NASA'S James Webb Space Telescope

NASA's James Webb Space Telescope, scheduled for launch in 2018, will probe the cosmos to uncover the history of the universe from the Big Bang to alien planet formation and beyond.

Scientists are planning to use the infrared telescope to search for the first galaxies that formed at the beginning of the universe. The James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) will also have the ability to look through cosmic dust clouds to find newly forming planetary systems and seek out the chemical origins of life in the solar system.

The powerful 8.8 billion spacecraft is also expected to take amazing photos of celestial objects like its predecessor, the Hubble Space Telescope.

INSTRUMENTS ON BOARD

The JWST will come equipped with four science instruments.

* NEAR-INFRARED CAMERA (NIRCAM) - Provided by the University of Arizona, this infrared camera will detect light from stars in nearby galaxies and stars within the Milky Way. It will also search for light from stars and galaxies that formed early in the universe's life. NIRCam will be outfitted with coronagraphs that can block a bright object's light, making dimmer objects near those stars (like planets) visible.
* NEAR-INFRARED SPECTROGRAPH (NIRSPEC) - NIRSpec will observe 100 objects simultaneously, searching for the first galaxies that formed after the Big Bang. NIRSpec was provided by the European Space Agency with help from NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center.
* MID-INFRARED INSTRUMENT (MIRI) - MIRI will produce amazing space photos of distant celestial objects, following in Hubble's tradition of astrophotography. The spectrograph that is a part of the instrument will allow scientists to gather more physical details about distant objects in the universe. MIRI will detect distant galaxies, faint comets, forming stars and objects in the Kuiper Belt. MIRI was built by the European Consortium with the European Space Agency and NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory.
* FINE GUIDANCE SENSOR/NEAR INFRARED IMAGER AND SLITLESS SPECTROGRAPH (FGS/NIRISS) - This Canadian Space Agency-built instrument is more like two instruments in one. The FGS component is responsible for keeping the JWST pointed in exactly the right direction during its science investigations. NIRISS will scope out the cosmos to find signatures of the first light in the universe and seek out and characterize alien planets.

The telescope will also sport a tennis court-size sunshield and a 21.3 foot (6.5 meter) mirror - the largest mirror ever launched into space. Those components will not fit into the rocket launching the JWST, so both will unfurl once the telescope is in space.

Robert's piece,"Science and UFOs: Part 4 - Sincere but Uninformed Skeptics Have Been Duped by Skeptical Inquirer Magazine", is predominantly an attack on Skeptical Inquirer and it's staff. I suspect his animosity towards the magazine goes back some years when Kingston George authored a rebuttal article against Hasting's "Big Sur UFO" write up supporting the claims that a UFO had intercepted a 1964 Atlas ICBM test launch out of Vandenberg AFB.As Carlson points out, Hastings can't seem to help himself by his interjecting the 2010 Washington DC press conference. Robert reminds his readers that 7 former Air Force officers were in attendance providing credible evidence of UFO activity in and around ICBM sites. Simply old news for myself and others interested in this worn out UFO lore.The thing that caught my attention, yet again, was Hastings referring that Walter Figel had "chose" not to attend the conference. I've already posted on this blog Robert's being on record that Figel's noted absence was by design. Since Hastings decided to keep to the script, I posted a comment on Warren's site: "Robert states in his article, "Although I have roughly three hours of audio taped comments by Figel, he chose not to participate in the press conference. I've asked Robert on at least two occasions to provide the reasons of Walter Figel's absence and he has stated to me that Figel "chose" not to attend."How then does this published comment from Robert on the Marine Times (3-20-12) square with Figel's lack of participation:"Robert Hastings: "Figel, after accusing Salas of making up the UFO-related events at Oscar, as you mention above, never acknowledged that he had been wrong when he said that Salas' statements were fiction, never called Col. Meiwald (whose number I provided to him) to verify the authenticity of Meiwald's tape recorded comments in support of Salas-which contradicted his own uninformed opinions entirely-and frankly, never had the decency to apologize to Salas, even after Col. If one listens to the taped conversations I had with Figel, he clearly attempted to do the same thing with me--wriggle out of acknowledging the serious UFO reports he got from his missile guards, which he had already confirmed to Bob Salas on tape in 1996--but I didn't let him get away with it. My name is Craig, and I've had a lifetime of encounters with aliens. I've had multiple UFO sightings, and later, abductions. The abductions started, at least as far as I remember, in my mid-twenties. Naturally, I was met by skepticism...at times even I was skeptical. "Is this real? This can't be happening to me!" Well, as much as I fought myself over it, reality would hit me with something I couldn't deny. Neither can anyone else.

Last April (2005), An extraordinary event took place at my job. I would have settled for a substantial raise, but I got something else. Proof of my encounters. I sell men's suits for a living. In order to get credit for those sales, I of course work with laser scanners to ring them up, and registers to take the money. Who would have thought that this ordinary combination would prove that aliens abduct human beings. My co-worker and I were discussing the sales we had made so far. I leaned back near one of the laser scanners. With my back actually facing the scanner, and the scanner pointing downward, the scanner suddenly rang out as if it had just rung an item. The sound the register made was strange, although it still sounded as though an item had been rung for sale. The problem was I was the only "item" near the scanner. My co-worker looked at the register, and then he looked at me. "What the hell? Was that YOU?" I replied, "Yeah...but I don't know how!"Things only got more disturbing when we looked at the register screen...the one that usually just shows regular store items and their prices as we ring them. THIS time, the message was different..."ERROR: UPC/SKU barcode cannot be found."This message only comes up when when we ring up an item that doesn't belong in the store. In other words, someone else's merchandise. So, who owns the merchandise in this case? This occurred four more times, always with my back to the scanner and it always happened by accident. Two other co-workers saw this happen. Luckily, all three witnesses have worked in the store for years and are trusted employees, so I had good people to back me up.

Later that summer, my wife and I decided to take a trip to our favorite place... Sedona, Arizona. Before we could get there however, there was a little trouble with the airport metal detection system. I set it off. Twice."Uh Sir could you have a seat there please?" The security supervisor didn't want me to go any further until he brought out the hand-held detector. When he waved it around my body, it reacted to my lower spinal area. "It's something with your lower torso, but you can go." Knowing I had no weapon, there was no point in questioning anything else, although it was clear that something strange was happening.

I promised my wife that I would get x-rays done when we returned.That August, I had them done. Confirmed. The x-rays showed two metallic, needle-like objects lined up with the base of my spine. One object is shorter than the other. These were the objects that made the airport metal detectors react, but more importantly, they not only activated the cash register at work, they left a message on the screen. Ordinary metal would NOT do this. So either one of two things happened. Either these objects have some sort of barcode on them and they can be read through my skin, or, these objects are emitting something from my body. Whatever it is, it can make some electronic equipment react or malfunction.My doctors can't explain what they are or how they got into my body. Based on where they are located, it has been determined that they were not swallowed. And based on my memory, there was no accident in which metal entered my body.

The x-rays made news on my local FOX affiliate, and things got even more interesting when I went to a surgeon to see if these objects could be removed. After seeing the x-rays and physically examining the area, he concluded that the objects were too close to the bone (Coccyx or tailbone), and too deep near the spinal area to take them out."I'm not touching these." To some extent however, I couldn't help thinking that he was also talking about the controversy. I had no choice but to tell him my theory of how these objects got in there (alien abduction), and due to the actual medical report which said the objects were "of uncertain etiology" (uncertain origin or reason), my theory was as logical as anything else...albeit an outlandish one. Still, I believe this surgeon didn't want anything to do with this matter, and he even acted as though I wasted his time. He did have two medical students with him, and they seemed more interested in this. The main surgeon was in charge though, so they would have no comment on this.This was disappointing at first. I have proof of my abductions, and I truly wanted these objects to be taken out so I could show the scientific world. But that was not to be. I would be risking major nerve damage in opening up that area surgically, and the surgeon said that even then he may not have been able to take them out.

This started off as a loss, but then turned into a victory of sorts. Apparently, whoever put the objects in my body didn't care whether I knew they were there...but they didn't want them removed. So there they stay. Proof of alien contact inside of my body. I personally believe that these objects are tracking devices used by my "visitors."My only question now is, will anyone else pay attention? At the Daly City Chinese Cemetery, graves have been robbed, because the Chinese will place money and jewelry into the graves of their loved ones. There are stories of orbs that will hover over certain graves. These stories are mere tidbits to the one story that has been told all over the bay area. The story goes that a couple drove into the cemetery to make out.

The boyfriend saw a glowing blue light and went to investigate. His girlfriend claimed that the blue light was actually a UFO and her boyfriend was abducted on the spot. In a frantic, she drove out of the cemetery and a large hairy bi-pedal creature jumped from the overhead gate onto the hood of her car. She later testified it was a Bigfoot. This is supposed to have happened in the early 60s. My question is what was a Bigfoot doing in a populated city like Daly City? What makes the story somewhat interesting is that the Bigfoot is associated with a UFO. Some witnesses claim to have seen the occupants of UFOs working alongside Bigfoot type of creatures.

If this is true, then this would make Bigfoot a paranormal creature. Perhaps this is why we can t capture a Bigfoot. Perhaps Bigfoot is an interdimensional creature that is able to walk into our reality and build a Bigfoot nest, rest up a little bit and go back into it s other dimensional realm. How can a creature so large and probably very hungry exist in our world without us ever capturing one, unless it is interdimensional?

During our investigations on Mount Shasta and Covelo, we heard that the indigenous people of these areas have all claimed to have seen wildmen in their woods. But, what is also interesting is that UFOs are seen all around Mount Shasta and Covelo. Some Ufologists feel that there is a UFO underground base within the confines of this majestic peak.

One of the main things we try to do to communicate with Bigfoot is hitting wood-upon-wood, in a series of loud knocks. If we hit wood upon wood 3 times, we would expect 3 knocks coming out of the woods. This would indicate an intelligent response back. Wood-on-wood communication is a way the Bigfoot is known to communicate. There was only one time in Covelo, I hit the tree 3 times with a solid piece of wood and received one knock back. This was inconclusive. I hit the tree 3 more times with my solid piece of wood and the response I got back was 3 rocks hitting the water of the creek 3 times. Bigfoot are also known to throw rocks, so I found that quite interesting, because the three rocks hit the water right after I hit the tree three times. In Mount Shasta we thought we heard a loud screeching sound from the woods, using a Listen Up sound enhancer. We did not find any footprints, so the Plaster of Paris that I bought went to waste.

Some scientists feel that if the Bigfoot or the Yeren of Mainland China actually exists, then it could be Gigantopithecus that came from China. Gigantopithecus may have crossed over the Bering land bridge that once existed and populated areas of Canada and the United States.

I actually believe that Bigfoot and all of his cousins do exist in this world. The creature must be of the paranormal realm, because we would have captured him a long time ago. For a long time the mountain gorilla was elusive to man and in 1902, man discovered that this great ape roamed the Congo. With as many people that populate this Earth, I would believe that Bigfoot or Yeti would have been discovered by now.

Mark Sandoff with two of his friends were camping out in an area of Eureka in 1984. They had a nice campfire burning and telling jokes. Then small pebbles were being thrown at them.
