Full Preview: We kick things off with the standard bio/background portion of the interview, finding out who Adam Davies is and how he got interested in cryptozoology. This leads to Adam telling us about some of the scarier moments of his cryptozoological expeditions.

Adam then gives a thumbnail look at "EXTREME EXPEDITIONS" and explains his goals for writing the memoirs of his expeditions. Adam also recounts the incident, as detailed in the book, where he was arrested in Mongolia on suspicion of being a Chinese spy. We dive into the book with discussion of Adam's early forays into crytpo expeditions and the initial issues he faced, namely finding the right people to join him and the preparation work involved in such adventures.

Next, we discuss one of the early, colorful characters of the book, Jan, and we get Adam's take on some of Jan's eccentricities that are detailed in his book. We then get Adam's perspective on the members of expeditions who are sometimes overly interested in the media exposure as opposed to the actual research. We discuss some of the creatures that Adam has gone searching for on expeditions, starting with the Seljord Serpent.

After that we talk about the Loch Ness Monster and get Adam's take on the popular notion in esoterica that it is some kind of eel. Adam then gives us some perspective on what it's like on the ground at Loch Ness and how if the Monster is highly commercialized or not. We also discuss the perception that the LNM has become less popular over the last few decades and we get Adam's take on if that is apparent in Europe as well, and, if so, why that might be.

Moving on, we talk about the Mokele-Membe, which Adam has searched extensively for in the Congo. Adam details some of his early interest in the Mokele-Membe and how it fueled his desires to go on expedition searching for it. This leads to some talk about the political hassles that are involved in exploring the Congo for mysterious creatures. Adam reflects on how the natives in the countries that he traveled to were very receptive to his visits and attempts to verify their cultural stories of strange creatures in their homelands.

He then talks about some of his interactions and friendships with the natives of the countries he visited. We get Adam's take on if he think the Mokele-Membe could exist and what it might be. We also find out how extensive the research into the Mokele-Membe is, since it seems like one of the more peripheral cryptozoological animals. We discuss environmental issues with regards to cryptozoological animals and the question of whether or not their shrinking habitats would lead to their discovery or extinction.

We follow that up with discussion of another bizarre creature that Adam has gone searching for: the Mongolian Death Worm. He also gives his opinion of what the Death Worm might be and details some of the witnesses and believers in the animal. Lessons learned from his expeditions and advice for would-be crypto explorers is our next topic of discussion. We find out some of the means and methods used by Adam when he is on one of his expeditions. Adam shares the reaction by some of his fellow travelers who were featured in "EXTREME ADVENTURES".

We also talk about the incident in the book where one of his compatriots had to leave the expedition and we find out how that person felt about having to leave the trip. Our conversation then turns to the subject of growing older and having a family and how that effects Adam's life of traveling the globe in search of mystery animals.

In July 1947, when the country was aflutter over 'flying disks,' a young Fort Worth photographer wrote himself into history without realizing it.FORT WORTH -- J. Bond Johnson is one of Fort Worth Star-Telegram's most famous photographers.He has been portrayed in Hollywood films and documentaries and discussed at length in magazine articles and on blogs and other Web sites. His photos have been a prominent exhibit for almost two decades in a museum that draws 150,000 visitors a year.And they are "the most frequently requested images from our Fort Worth Star-Telegram collection -- really from all of our photo collections," said Brenda McClurkin of the University of Texas at Arlington Library of Special Collections. "I just sent one to Australia."That's because on a warm afternoon in July 1947, Johnson, at the age of 21, took the only known photographs of the supposed remains of the UFO crash near Roswell, N.M. -- and then forgot all about it until researchers came looking for him more than three decades later.They made Johnson, by then a Methodist minister, something of a celebrity as they argued over his photos and espoused theories of vast government conspiracies and intrigue.Thanks to modern technology, Johnson, who died last year, remains at the forefront of the ufology world, said Julie Shuster, director of Roswell's International UFO Museum and Research Center.Read more.

Yesterday Guido Fawkes broke the news that the Tory MEP Roger Helmer is to resign from the European Parliament, in part because of his "increasing disillusion with the attitudes of the Conservative Party".

There is more about his resignation in today's Leicester Mercury, including some delicately worded tributes from other local politicians. Louise Mensch, the Conservative MP for Corby, was less inhibited - as you can see from the tweet above.

Helmer is to be replaced at Brussels by one Rupert Matthews. And what an interesting fellow he turns out to be.

UFO SIGHTING IN ROUGEMONT, NORTH CAROLINA ON JULY 29TH 2013 - ME AND MY BOYFRIEND WERE DRIVING AND SAW UFO

My boyfriend and I were driving home. We went past Roxboro Airport and saw a Cessna type flying low around the airport. We made a right next to the airport and begin to head North toward Highway 501. As we came to a stop I noticed a bright flashing (almost like when a meteorite enters the atmosphere) but then it began to get bigger and MUCH brighter. Then it stop and hovered. We continued to stare in awe for about 15 seconds when the Cessna type aircraft appeared to be going toward the bright object. The plane was about 300ft. above us. As it got closer to the bright object we noticed that the object began to dimmed out slowly, flew over the plane and continued NE. What was so bizarre was I had just said to my boyfriend " man, I would really love to see a orb UFO at night time". So we both felt like it showed itself to us. After it continued to the NE we lost it because of trees and cloud cover. We had the feeling that we wanted it to stay bright and to see more. We know that whoever was flying and/or in the Cessna had to have seen it and it seemed liked they deliberately flew toward the extremely bright object. ( Note: the plane did not have any head lights on, just the flashing lights and red/green wing lights) This object was significantly bigger than the plane and blatantly a separate craft. AMAZING !

"Threatened with losing his wings by an unknown official, Torres complied until the U.K. Ministry of Defense released the files in 2008. No U.S. report on the incident has ever been found. From many other instances, it appears that security personnel periodically have warned/threatened both military and civilian people about reporting UFO information."Alexander isn't looking to get the government to reveal that some UFOs may be extraterrestrial craft. There were three beings sitting as these consoles, holding and moving their hands over these lights. I understood clearly that all the occupants were unified in mind. Each person knew what each other person was thinking and doing, and they worked together in unison.

The craft was controlled solely by the mind of the occupants. I also felt that the these people had complete control of their minds. No wandering thoughts; they had clear, focused thought processes. I realized that we humans on Earth are not capable to have such a clear mind, nor able to fly such a craft. I also felt that the two beings in the center were not aware of me, or they were but decided to completely ignore me. All this lasted only a couple of seconds, Then I exited the craft into the opposite direction, and went back to my physical body. I feel that I was guided to have this experience, probably by my spiritual guides. At that time, there were very few books about flying saucers in the Dutch language. The whole subject was very mysterious, and nobody really knew who the occupants were. The occupants were usually referred to as ufonauts. Only in the 2000's I came across a few references that at least some ETs were piloting their vehicles by their mind.As with other spiritual experiences, I feel that this one was shown to me to give me a first hand experience of the reality of extraterrestrials. One such experience is enough. Since then I did not believe in them. I know that they exist and that they are here.

Time: Approx: 9:00 p.m.

Hi Mr. Vike, Love your site, keep up the diligent work. I would like to report a recent unidentified sighting here in Southern Alberta on August 10, 2008. It was around 9:00 p.m. in the evening. While outside, I noticed a huge white light in the sky coming out of the North over my house. I tried to identify it with my celestron skywatcher 12 x 60 binoculars as well as my digital camera, to no avail. The object appeared round and bright. After a couple of minutes I called my husband out. He took out our Skywatcher telescope. We observed a huge object moving silently and slowly. It appeared bright with what looked like a bar through the centre of it. It also appeared to be darker on the top than the bottom. The strange thing was, while my husband was watching the object, it exploded and became invisible to the naked eye.

Had we not been viewing through the telescope it would have appeared like it vanished. We took turns watching the debris cloud swirl around in close movements that resembled a shiny school of fish swimming in unison spinning slowly around in the air. It was amazing. I am enclosing the pictures I took, unfortunately, they don't show much. There is one picture I took through the telescope lens with my camera showing the debris cloud somewhat. My husband wondered if it wasn't a weather balloon, but it seemed to me to be too large for that. I stress that it was huge and silent and bright. I was reading your site today about UFO sightings where you encouraged all to send in their sightings, regardless of when they occurred and thought I would report it anyway. It would be interesting to know what it was and if anyone else saw it.

As I am writing this, I want to report another sighting I had for the record. When I was a child (12 or 13 perhaps), I saw an orange orb, resting on the ground across the street in a field from where i lived - we used to play soccer there. I have tried to pinpoint the date, but the closest I can come to that is it would have been 1978 or 79 and it was in the summer time. It was a huge orange orb, resting on the ground and it pulsated on and off. I did not tell anyone about it, though I don't know why. I was not afraid looking at it. My memories are standing at my window watching it. I don't remember going to the window or why I looked out, but It was incredible anyway. This sighting took place in Alberta as well, just in a small town outside of Edmonton. I have done research over the years to see if anything had been reported in that area for that timeframe but have found nothing.
